Actor Neil Dudgeon, best known for playing DCI John Barnaby in ITV’s ‘Midsomer Murders’ has joined the campaign. He writes:
To Whom It May Concern (i.e. Every one of us.)
Television production is clearly one of the remaining areas of industry in which Britain is truly a world leader. British television is admired and imitated throughout the world. The TV Centre Studios are a world class facility where world class programmes are made for Britain and the world. This is something we are outstandingly good at, we should be supporting and enhancing these facilities. To demolish these studios at Television Centre can only damage our country economically and culturally both at home and abroad. We must support and build on our success stories. We have to save all these studios to bring employment, revenue and creative opportunity to London and Britain. The notion of destroying this great national asset is short-sighted and absurd and we must keep these studios.
Yours faithfully,
Neil Dudgeon
