TV Centre is part of our cultural heritage. It is my ‘church’ I teach Theatre, but TV Centre was the stage I grew up with and how I learned about the world as a youngster. I was asked to imagine and I imagined a whole universe of ideas that have there seed in the creatives that worked in those spaces. Those spaces gave birth to much of modern culture, and is a place where legends were born and nurtured. We wouldn’t re-develop Shakespeare’s birthplace…!

I cried watching the goodbye show! I couldn’t believe they were planning on turning one of the most inspirational buildings into flats and shops!!

This is madness, I worked at TVC back in the sixties and it was a wonerful and inspiring place to work. To close down purpose built tv studios is crackers, I’ve seen this happen elsewhere when programmes end up being made in old wharehouses and factories while purpose made studios stood empty. Accountants rule!!

Oh how I hope it isn’t too late to save this centre of creative endeavours. It is a huge mistake to scatter it around the country.

I have yet to hear from any former BBC colleagues who support this madness.
There is, I believe, a hidden agenda here that has yet to be revealed!
